Obituary of Maureen R. Swinney
Maureen R. Swinney, 64, of Verona, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare in Utica. She was born in Rome, NY on April 20, 1956, a daughter of the late Irving and Mary Therese (Kraeger) Stone.
Maureen worked for 35 years for the CNY DSO before retiring in 2012. She most recently had been working at Mystic Stamp on a part-time basis. She was an active volunteer at the Town of Verona Food Pantry and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ian and Cathy Swinney and Joshua and Christy Swinney; three sisters, Anne Marie Carruthers, Pamela Harvey and Patricia ( Curtis) Cole; a brother, Paul (Jane Bramley) Stone; three precious grandchildren, Ayden, Leah and Grayson; the father of her children, William Swinney; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in McConnellsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maureen’s memory may be made to the Town of Verona Food Pantry, 6600 Germany Rd., Durhamville, NY 13054.
